Track #4: Bistecca @Tuscany Suites and Casino

There are so many options for steakhouses in Vegas that it's more than a little dizzying (are we the steakhouse capital of the world?). Thumbs up for Bistecca, the modern Italian steakhouse inside Tuscany Suites on Flamingo (close to  The Strip, with free parking). Head there for Executive Chef Frankie Orantes’ standout creations, the alluring dark wood ambience (with thoughtfully sympathetic lighting), and the warm and smart waitstaff.

Right out of the gate you’re presented with complimentary focaccia with ricotta whip, honey, red pepper, and sea salt—you could easily make a meal out of this. Our appetizer choice was the stuffed mushrooms, artfully prepared with ricotta, Italian sausage, mozzarella, spinach, and lemon herb beurre blanc. We had the 16-ounce tender boneless ribeye (as rich and buttery as you wanted it to be)—which the kitchen pre-cut for easy sharing—and the ultra-juicy 6-ounce lobster tail add-on.

Why settle for the standard baked potato/carb steakhouse option when here you can order the pasta trio consisting of bolognese, cacio e pepe, and spicy rigatoni? Each pasta on the plate was notably distinctive—a joyful testament to the chef’s culinary magic. We complemented that with asparagus with bearnaise and chili thread, one of the 11 sides impressively offered.  Dessert? Uh, next time…
