One of life’s joys for me is dining at a new restaurant during its soft opening phase—before a possible buzz develops—and being utterly knocked out. Consider, please, the new 328 Thai just off The Strip in Frisco Plaza (also home to the famous steakhouse Golden Steer).

The papaya salad—with lime, chili, tomatoes, and long beans in an outstanding Thai dressing—was a tangy and seductive delight. It set me up nicely for the so-named “Royal Pad Thai,” which was clearly an advanced take on the dish. The stir-fried rice noodles were artfully wrapped in an egg nest and topped with sweet and tender roasted duck that gave the familiar dish an enticing spin.

328 Thai is part of the well-regarded Weera Thai food family of restaurants in Vegas.  It's  excitingly raising the bar for Thai food in a modern and warm setting.
