Believe it or not, there has been a slow-burning quarterback controversy raging in Las Vegas all season long and it’s about to get worse. While neither Derek Carr nor Marcus Mariota has ever said anything about the situation, their fans are more upfront. Team Carr and Team Mariota exist, with a lot of growing support going to the former Heisman Trophy winner.
Looking at Derek Carr’s stats on Sunday, he went 28 of 38 for 239 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. That’s right! Derek Carr. The supposed savior of the Las Vegas Raiders. The man piloting one of the top ten offenses in the entire league couldn't manage to put up a single touchdown in Sunday’s game. Carr did complete over 70% of his passes, but he never seemed to put the Raiders in a powerful position.
