Thriving LGBTQ Neighborhoods in Las Vegas

Thriving LGBTQ Neighborhoods in Las Vegas

As an incredibly diverse city, Las Vegas makes everyone feel welcome.

1. Downtown

Downtown Las Vegas is home to The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, commonly known as ''the Center.'' There are different opportunities to volunteer or join support groups, interact and connect with other community members. There are plenty of local bars and hangout spots downtown that provide a relaxing environment for locals and tourists alike. One can enjoy having drinks or casually spend time with friends and family in a bustling community atmosphere.

2. Spring Valley

Spring Valley has a new charity-based arts complex solely driven by the community known as ''The Space''. It's a fantastic place to meet new people due to several events, such as ''Miss Gay Nevada America.'' There are plenty of  24/7 bars in the area if you're in the mood to party. During the summer, on Sundays, there's an LGBTQ pool party held at The Luxor Hotel.

3. Paradise

Compared to the two previous locations, Paradise can be said to be the most gay-friendly choice in terms of establishments and businesses. Flamingo Road is known for hosting enjoyable drag show performances and has great spots to grab food and drinks. However, the most popular area for gay visitors and residing locals is the ''Fruit Loop'' region located off Naples Street and Paradise Road. Paradise has organizations that encourage residents to be active and social as well. They do this through events such as the LGBT Volleyball Gay Social held at Sunset Park.

4. McNeil Manor

This is a beautiful neighborhood with wide streets and walkways, spacious parking lots, and trees. Many LGBTQ members live within this quiet but convenient neighborhood that's only five minutes away from the strip.

5. Scotch 80's

The area is known for flashy living with several prominent residents. Nothing about it gives it away as an LGBTQ-friendly space. Still, it has the feel of a small town with friendly people that do not discriminate against each other on any basis, making it a neighborhood that any LGBTQ member would comfortably live in.
